What is Digital TV?
- Digital is a technology that allows more information to be compressed into a smaller bandwidth (space).
- This means we are able to deliver more channels over the same wire, with more information, which equals better picture quality, especially on larger screen televisions.
- When we deliver digital signals into your home, a receiver called SET TOP BOX (STB) is needed to match the digital signals to your television's technology, which is called analogue.
- Currently, we transport our signals into your town or neighbourhood using digital technology and then convert these channels to analogue, so you may receive them on all types of televisions.
